World Book Day 2023

One of our favourite days of the year is here……..World Book Day!

As part of a family learning project, we provided our pupils with a small polystyrene egg, in order for them to create one of their favourite book characters. We were very excited to see the creations when they were brought into School today following on from the wooden peg project success last year.

The eggs formed many different scenes from their stories and they are on display all across the academy.

See some of these creations in the gallery below and click on the image to see them in more detail.

Author Natalie Pritchard Visits St John's

As part of our World Book Day 2021 celebrations, author Natalie Pritchard visited our academy.

Children in Early Years enjoyed a story-telling and song session and Years 1 and 2 also took part in a story-telling session with the opportunity to work along side Natalie, who supported their writing session.

Natalie also presented a live session for the children working at home.

We would like to thank Natalie for visiting; the children and staff had a brilliant time.
