School Mission:

Growing Together in God’s Love to Soar as St John’s Eagles.

School Vision

Together we grow thriving schools where learning, excellence and potential flourish – for every pupil, every staff member and the communities we serve

At St John’s, everyone is cherished equally as a unique child of God. We nurture hearts, minds, and spirits so that all can flourish, become the person that God created them to be, and take flight with confidence, joy and hope.

Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. (Isaiash 40:31)

The Parable of the Lost Sheep - a parable that relates to our mission vision and values

Jesus once told a story to help people understand how much God loves every single person.

A shepherd had one hundred sheep. He cared for them, kept them safe, and led them to good places to eat and rest. One day, as he counted them, he realised something was wrong…

One sheep was missing!

Instead of staying with the ninty nine sheep who were safe, the shepherd did something amazing. He left them in a safe place and went out to search for the one lost sheep. He climbed hills, looked in valleys, checked behind rocks and bushes, he didn’t give up.

Finally, he heard a faint “baa…”
There it was. The lost sheep!

The shepherd was filled with joy. He gently lifted the sheep onto his shoulders and carried it home. When he got back, he called all his friends and neighbors and said:

“Celebrate with me! I’ve found my lost sheep!”

Jesus explained that God is just like the shepherd. Even if one person feels far away or lost, God goes looking for them with love, and when they return, there is great joy in heaven.
