Our vision is to inspire curious, knowledgeable and confident young scientists who develop a lifelong fascination with the world around them. Through a rich, ambitious and carefully sequenced Science curriculum, based on the Plymouth Science model, children will develop a secure understanding of scientific concepts and the skills to think and work like scientists.
We want our pupils to ask questions, explore ideas and investigate the world through practical scientific enquiry. They will learn to observe, predict, test, record and interpret results, developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Children will discover how science shapes our everyday lives and helps us understand and care for our planet.
Through progressive learning and our annual participation in Science Week, pupils will develop curiosity, creativity and a love of discovery, building their knowledge and independence from the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to Year 6.
Our aim is for every child to leave primary school as a confident, curious and reflective young scientist, equipped with the knowledge and skills to question, explore and understand the world around them.
