Our vision is to inspire curious, knowledgeable and environmentally responsible geographers who develop a lifelong fascination with the world around them. Through a rich, ambitious and carefully sequenced Geography curriculum, children will develop a secure understanding of places, people, environments and the relationships between them.

We want our pupils to explore the diversity of our planet, develop a strong sense of place and understand how physical and human processes shape the world in which we live. Through meaningful geographical enquiry, children will learn to ask questions, collect and interpret data, use maps and geographical tools, identify patterns and explain the connections between people, places and environments.

By exploring their local area, the United Kingdom and the wider world, pupils will develop an appreciation of cultural diversity, an awareness of environmental challenges and a growing understanding of their responsibility as global citizens.

Through progressive geographical learning, children will move from exploring their immediate environment and describing familiar places in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to independently interpreting complex geographical information, analysing patterns and explaining interrelationships between human and physical geography by the end of Year 6.

Our aim is for every child to leave primary school as a confident, curious and environmentally conscious geographer, equipped with the knowledge and skills to understand, explore and care for our ever-changing world.
