Annual Gymnastics Competition

On Thursday 8th March we here at St John's hosted our annual Gymnastics competition where over 40 children from 4 other local Primary Schools competed.
All children involved enjoyed participating and the experience of showboating their abilities in front of over 70 spectators.

Awards were split between the schools, however St John's pupils placed 1st in Year 4 overall and a special mention to Issac Lewis who is the first boy to achieve first place overall in his age category.

We dodged, dipped and dived to victory!

We would like to thank all schools who attended the recent Dodgeball tournament for a fun, enjoyable and competitive competition.  Our St John's team were prepared and certainly ready for action!

The tournament involved five local Primary Schools comprising of St John's, Cheslyn Hay, Havergal and Featherstone who all competed against each other playing four games each.

The results were then collated and St John's were successful in winning all of their games, resulting in them winning the competition.

I really enjoyed the tournament and look forward to taking part in more Dodgeball events

Tri Golf Success

Congratulations to our Year 3/4 golf team.

The competition was held at Cheslyn Hay High school, with 9 schools attending, Some schools travelling some distance.

As this was our first attempt at golf, we didn’t quite know what to expect. However all 10 children were ready for the challenge, after 6 weeks practice.

All children played their part in achieving first place and now have the opportunity to compete in the county finals.

I would also like to thank the vast amount of spectators that came to watch their child’s success.

Year 3 and 4 Boys Cruise To Victory In a Stunning Performance

Boys from year 3 and 4 set sail in a football tournament held at Glenthorne on Wednesday 9th November.  All the boys were certainly itching to play in a competitive tournament and pit their wits against other local schools.

Our first fixture saw us come out the traps quickly, scoring five goals!  This set the standard of performance and the boys demonstrated a consistent magnificent display beating all 4 teams while not conceding a goal.

In addition to this, St John's displayed superb sportsmanship, great respect for the game and their opponents throughout the tournament.

Support from the parents was lovely and all seemed to thoroughly enjoy the atmosphere, performance and smiles from their children.

We must make a special mention about Elliott in year 3 who showed great sportsmanship after informing the referee that awarded a goal in favor of St John's that in fact the ball never crossed the line and did not go in. When Elliot was asked why did you tell the referee the ball didn't cross the line he replied "because it didn't, and if he had given the goal that would not of been fair"
Well done Elliott and well done lads!!!!

Well, wow.... what a performance from all, absolutely sensational

We passed the ball really well, played as a team and we won
